DMZ 2016–17

DMZ International Documentary Film Festival(DMZ DOCS) is an annual festival for documentary films presented jointly by Gyeonggi province, Goyang city and Paju city.

MWIFF Jury Award 2013

Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) is a five-day film festival, organized by Oculus Creations (a division of Dollphins Interactive Sciences Pvt.Ltd), to bring forth the women of the industry at an international level.

Chandy Matthew Award 2016–17

Sonia Nepram’s Bloody Phanek has received the Docedge Chandy Mathew Grant, which is offered by the Filament Pictures as an outreach support at the completion of the film.


Dalmia Young Achiever’s Award 2017

Sonia Nepram won the prestigious Young Achiever’s Award, which is sponsored by the Dalmia Bharat Group at a grand function held this evening at the Radisson Blu Hotel. This annual award is given to emerging stars from Northeast India in the field of dance, journalism, football, music, arts, acting and documentary film direction.

Originally published by the Manipur Times Behind the Scene Sonia Nepram was born and brought up at Thongju, Imphal East in a humble yet huge family. She is presently residing at Uripok. She studied at Little Flower School and Human Resource Development (HRD) Academy in Imphal. She completed her graduation and later, Masters in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. Since then, she has been working on films, based on varying themes such as gender issues, survival of women in a patriarchal society and against domestic violence, the negative effects of law and order and so on.
